Hi, I’m Megan

I am a UX Researcher dedicated to transforming complex human behaviors into actionable product strategies. With a foundational background in Anthropology, I view every digital interaction as an extension of a human story. My goal is to move beyond mere data points to uncover the "why" behind user actions, ensuring that the products we build are not just functional, but profoundly resonant.

The Anthropological Edge

Research has been the pulse of my career long before I entered the tech space. My academic training provided me with a rigorous toolkit for ethnographic inquiry, which I now apply to the digital landscape.

  • Deep-Dive Qualitative Expertise: For my Master’s degree, I conducted 16 in-depth ethnographic interviews, honing the art of uncovering unspoken needs—a skill that now defines my approach to user discovery.

  • Published Insights: I am a published researcher, notably in the Archaeological Papers of the American Anthropological Association (2022). My work on "Reconstructing Russell City" focused on the intersection of memory and place—a theme that continues to drive my passion for digital placemaking and immersive UX.

My Research Philosophy: Radical Empathy

Since 2018, I have led research initiatives that bridge the gap between user pain points and business goals. I don't just deliver reports; I build empathy ecosystems within teams.

  • Methodological Versatility: I employ a multi-faceted research stack, including usability testing, competitive gap analysis, 1:1 user interviews, accessibility, and surveying to drive evidence-based design.

  • Synthesizing Complexity: I specialize in translating raw data into high-impact artifacts—User Journey Maps, Archetypes, and Interaction Flows—that serve as the "north star" for design and engineering teams.

  • Evangelizing the User: I believe research is a team sport. I’ve championed user-centricity through live-streamed user sessions and critical user journey watch parties, ensuring that the voice of the user is heard in every sprint and stakeholder meeting.

Below are some kind words from my Google UXR manager about my work:

“You have demonstrated exceptional versatility by driving impact across all stages of the product lifecycle - foundational research informing AI direction, concept and usability on intelligent contract features, and a pulse check on a launched product.

Furthermore, you have skillfully managed Rapid Research, not only for your own projects but also in support of other team members. Doing it all while navigating delicate stakeholder situations with grace and consistently deliver high-quality work that yields significant results.
Thank you Megan!”

Let’s Build Something Meaningful

I am at my best when I am navigating the ambiguity of a new problem space and distilling it into a clear, delightful product path. Whether I am exploring the "invisible" history of a city or the ergonomic flow of a wellness app, my focus remains the same: human-first design.
